Proven. Prepared. Forward.

Currently Serving as Douglas County Sheriff

I've spent more than 30 years serving Douglas County and the past 20 years inside the Douglas County Sheriff's Office. Those experiences have given me the perspective to understand what makes this organization strong, where we have opportunities to grow, and how to prepare our Sheriff's Office for the future.

Our communities deserve leadership that respects the strong foundation that's been built while always looking ahead. That's the responsibility I've accepted as your Sheriff, and it's the commitment I'll continue to bring every day.

Generation Douglas County Family

Five generations later, the original Caille family homestead remains home to the Caille family today.

Douglas County Isn't Just Where
I Serve—It's Home.

Rooted Here

The Caille family was one of the pioneering families who helped establish Mansfield in 1889. More than a century later, Julie and I are proud to be raising our family on that same historic homestead.

Growing up here taught me that communities are built by people who look out for one another, accept responsibility, and leave things better than they found them. Those values shaped my family long before they shaped my career.

Serving as your Sheriff is my opportunity to give back to the community that has given my family a home for five generations.

Leadership Means Showing Up

Serving with Purpose

Throughout my career, I've had the opportunity to serve Douglas County as an EMT, firefighter, Fire Chief, deputy, Undersheriff, and now Sheriff. While the responsibilities have changed, one lesson has remained the same.

Leadership isn't measured by a title. It's measured by how you treat people, the decisions you make when they're difficult, and whether others know they can count on you when it matters most.

Serving in both fire service and law enforcement has given me a broader perspective on public safety. I've learned that strong organizations are built through preparation, collaboration, accountability, and a commitment to continuous improvement. That's the kind of leadership I believe Douglas County deserves.

A Letter from Tyler

Why I Serve

Serving Douglas County has never been about a title. It's about giving back to the community that has given so much to my family.

For more than 30 years, I've had the privilege of serving this community as a firefighter, EMT, law enforcement officer, Fire Chief, and now Sheriff. Every role has reinforced one belief: public service is about treating people with respect, doing what's right, and being there when your community needs you most.

Julie and I are proud to raise our family here, just as generations of my family have before us. Every decision I make as Sheriff is guided by the responsibility to help ensure Douglas County remains a safe, strong, and welcoming place for families like ours—and yours. Thank you for your trust and the opportunity to continue serving the place we proudly call home.

I hired Tyler as a deputy and watched him rise through every level of the Douglas County Sheriff's Office. He is not me or Kevin Morris—he is his own leader with his own vision. I believe Tyler is the best choice to lead our Sheriff's Office and serve the people of Douglas County.
